Suzanne Shugg, DNP, has over 20 years of experience in multiple healthcare sectors. She has developed a new, innovative health insurance company, implemented and expanded preventive cardiovascular clinics, assisted in the management of hospital systems, and remains a hands-on health care provider.

Suzanne continues to teach all aspects of Adult Medicine and Future Technology in Medicine at Rutgers University, where her program is ranked 7th in the U.S. As a pioneer in telemedicine, she has implemented telemedical services in hospital systems, clinical settings, and doctors’ offices. She was elected as a Fellow of the National Lipid Association, one of the highest and most prestigious rankings in the organization.

Suzanne was the Director of Preventive Cardiovascular Services at a large multi-specialty medical group, where under her direction the clinic grew to out produce any other clinic in New Jersey. She has practiced various aspects of cardiology in and out of hospital settings and established a preventive clinic.

Suzanne currently heads a preventive clinic at a partner of the largest hospital system in New Jersey, Saint Barnabas Medical Center and New Jersey Cardiology Associates. She has served across the United States as a consultant for telemedicine, starting independent telemedicine clinics both in and out of hospitals. She has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, sits on multiple medical boards and is a highly sought-after speaker in the field of preventive cardiology and telemedicine.


Rex has more than 20 years of global business experience with a highly successful track record. With an entrepreneurial spirit developed in Silicon Valley, and the understanding of the healthcare market’s needs, he co-founded Teleplus to deliver advanced telehealth technology and clinical services. He played a significant role in several leading technology companies. Rex was a Director at Advantech, the world’s largest medical PC vendor, and won several million dollar projects from world renowned teaching hospitals, including Duke, Mount Sinai and Cleveland Clinic.

Prior to Advantech, Rex was the Executive VP at Vosky, where he built global teams in Europe, Latin America and Asia from the ground up. He successfully sold telecom systems to more than 1,600 enterprises, including Fortune 500 companies such as Standard Charter Bank HQ, Levis Jeans, Nestle, C-trip, and Asus.

Prior to his time at Vosky, Rex was the Senior Director in PCTEL where he established the APAC team and drove revenue from $5 million to $60 million within 24 months, boosting PCTEL’s IPO success on NASDAQ.

Rex received a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston.


Dave Nichols has over 14 years of experience in entrepreneurial and startup businesses. Dave is the co-founder and managing director of Pangea Capital Partners where he is responsible for building a global business presence in the environmental sector and manages Pangea’s carbon emissions trading business in China, South Africa and Indonesia.

Dave understands the importance of executing day-to-day operations to ensure the success of new companies. At Pangea, Dave managed 30 projects through the United Nations registration process and oversaw monthly monitoring and verification of the emissions reductions of the projects. He has in-depth knowledge of project finance, carbon emissions, environmental policy, commodities sales and trading, and principal investing.

Dave has a strong track record of successfully negotiating contracts in developing markets for Pangea. In China he successfully signed and developed over 30 CDM projects with counterparties ranging from small private Chinese companies to large state owned enterprises.

During his tenure at Deegon Inc. he originated and negotiated large physical commodities transactions in both the oil and coal markets with leading Chinese companies including Norinco and Sinochem and successfully brokered a 50 million dollar fuel oil deal with a Top 25 company in China. Dave has valuable experience in emerging markets and has built a global presence in the environmental markets sector, including Asia, Latin America, Africa and the United States. He has extensive knowledge in investment management, corporate finance, foreign exchange markets and business operations.

Dave earned an MBA with distinction from Columbia University and a BS in Environmental Science from University of Delaware.
